With these insights, we can tailor your care to your needs and track progress over time, providing a more personalized experience. Whether you're trying to manage your weight or simply want to better understand your health, an InBody scan can be a great place to start. Learn more about InBody composition analysis and set up your body scan by reaching out to one of our practice locations in Orland Park or Frankfort, IL today.

InBody scans work through a process called bioelectrical impedance analysis, which uses low-level electric currents to measure fat, muscle, and water. Following your consultation, you'll remove your socks and shoes before standing on the InBody and placing your hands around special grips. All you have to do is stand still while the machine takes measurements of your body's composition. The entire process is noninvasive, and you shouldn't feel any discomfort from the electric current. After the scan (which usually takes a minute or less), we'll review the results with you, compare them to any prior scans, and start building out a plan to help you maintain your health and achieve your wellness goals.

Better health starts with understanding what's happening inside your body. With InBody body composition analysis, our providers at Midwest Medical Weight Loss & Aesthetics can deliver a deeper level of care, providing benefits for patients in Orland Park and Frankfort, IL that include:

  • Providing a detailed breakdown of body fat, muscle mass, and water balance
  • Measuring progress beyond the number on the scale
  • Tracking changes in body composition over time
  • Supporting more personalized nutrition and weight loss recommendations
  • Detecting changes that may not be visible in the mirror
  • Creating a clearer picture of overall health and physical wellness

I joined Midwest Medical Weight Loss back in May. I have lost 25 lbs. The way Midwest approaches weight loss is holistic. I go each week to talk through the prior week’s highs and lows. We then jointly determine are there any changes I need to consider. I finally feel like I have an advocate in my court. It’s not about getting me in and out and charging me. It’s about making sure I’m making the changes necessary for making this weight loss journey a lifestyle change. Thrilled with the results.

What does an InBody scan measure?

Our InBody device measures muscle mass, body fat percentage, and water balance. Together, these measurements provide a more detailed look at your body composition so that you can more accurately track your progress.

How is an InBody scan different from a traditional scale?

A normal scale only measures your weight. An InBody scan provides a more detailed view of how fat and muscle are distributed throughout your body, giving more insight into your overall health.

How long does an InBody scan take?

InBody scans are quick and comfortable. A typical scan takes only 30 – 60 seconds to complete, after which we will discuss your results with you.

How often should an InBody scan be done?

The answer to this question depends on your goals, but we usually recommend an InBody scan every 1 – 2 months for patients trying to transform their bodies. Regular scans allow us to track your progress and fitness level.

How are InBody results used in health planning?

The data from InBody body composition analysis helps our team create personalized fitness, nutrition, and weight management strategies built around your needs and goals. It's also helpful for understanding how your body is changing over time, which is difficult to understand from just your weight alone.

Take the guesswork out of your health plan by scheduling an InBody body composition analysis at Midwest Medical Weight Loss & Aesthetics. Whether you're just starting your wellness journey or want to track your progress, we offer specialized support and care to help you navigate your health. Reach out to one of our practice locations in Orland Park or Frankfort, IL to learn more about body composition testing.
